\o/ Finally got my Hackintosh working
Dell Inspiron 6400 running OSX. Had a few problems getting it running but it's all working now. Still a few things I need to fiddle with as I've got not sound or wireless at the moment but for a first stab, it runs pretty well.

I keep checking forums because I want to try it on my Aspire One but so far i'm not aware of anyone managing to get the wireless working properly using the Atheros setup that Acer used. A Netbook with no WiFi is pretty much useless to me

We have it running on our Eee PC and the wireless works, just with different drivers and software

Does the EEE PC use the same Atheros WiFi chip?

Just in case anyone hasn't come across the news floating about - if you're running Snow Leopard on your Netbook Hackintosh, don't update to 10.6.2.

Should be fine, Mark. The report came from one person who was having problems which were then resolved in the next seeded update. Of course, we won't know for sure until the final version is released.
Nicely done, Desmo. I assume you're using the insanely mac forums?

Yeah, have been reading there although not a great deal. I just downloaded the DVD and gave it a shot. Had a few problems before that I couldn't seem to solve but whilst we were sitting around yesterday I thought I'd give it another go and seems to have run fine
Only thing that could put a stop to it all is that I can't get wireless working yet. Not had a big dig around yet but initial outlook appears bleak Will take a look and see how far I get though.

What exactly is involved? Can this be run under a virtual machine?

I believe it's possible to set up a Hackintosh as a VM but I won't vouch for the ease of doing so. Netbooks, on the other hand, are fairly similar regardless of brand and thus well understood and catered for by the hackintosh community.
