Default Computer wont read some brand new dvds

Got several disks recently 1 game and 1 software neither will work on my main pc but will read fine in my htpc, but are useless on there.

On main pc it chunks around for bit and then says there is no dvd in the drive.

I've tried using this guide
http://community.rivercottage.net/us....com/kb/314060

But it says the disc in drive F is not supported, but they are just normal software DVDs. while games and software I have had for a while play fine.

Any ideas or anything.
I have tried changing the dvd drive to a spare, but think it's an identical model. NEC ND-3540A

Even tried reinstalling W7 as I was on the RC now got 64x HP retail on.

At a guess, it could be your dvd drive or maybe some new sort of standard that your main pcs drive doesn't support. Is there a firmware update for it?
