Insurance
Part rant, part help.
Wtf nothing has changed since last year yet I can't find any quotes that are cheaper or even the same price as last year. last year was £330 or £370 in instalments This year best I can find Is £375 or £415 in instalments. this is the first year I have really struggled. I know with each extra ncb teh savings get less. Tried adding parents, even tried adding friends. 26 with 6ncb same address as last year, same car everything. Has anyone else found this problem this year. Now to the help part. tried quotezone gocompare confused moneysavingsupermarket aviva more than direct line elephant kwick fit Probably other but I forget. Grr £45 more than last year and that one doesn't even include DOC which I would like. anyone know if hastings direct offer doc, can't see anything on their website. I know phone them. butt grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

The only other thing I'd suggest is looking on quidco for a decent cashback to help drop the price.

Same group as Elephant but give Admiral a shot. Loathe to use them after they buggered up a simple claim (got reversed into) but they gots the cheapness!

Depending on what you renewal was, first direct offers 10% reduction on the renewal price. This year I am paying around 620 for a group 16 car, 8 years ncb. I am hoping to get that down as well. I reckon about 550 would be good.
In general my renewal quotes have risen (lots of people are finding this). Go to moneysavingsexpert and do their job comparison tool then try all the insurances listed. |

Already tried swift cover £450, despite paying less than that 2 years ago with them

I can highly recommend contacting the insurance company direct. Use confused etc. for some ballpark prices, then just phone the insurance company and see what you can haggle. Usually over the phone they'll give you better deals than they offer on-line.

well first direct are winning, thanks for that. It's not actually 10% under, but that maybe because my renewal quote is pay monthly. But they still work out cheapest and have doc. Think I will phone them up on Monday and see if they can do 10% of monthly pay. Either way I expect I'll get that one.
Still an annoying year. Hope it drops next year.
