Cost of cable for aerial, expensive, minor rant.

This is to recable the VHF amateur radio aerial on the side of my house, I'm fitting a mast head pre-amplifier and replacing the rotator as well but the cable is just so expensive.

Frustratingly I only need 3 metres of the Ecoflex 10 but it's only sold in a minimum quantity of 10 metres. That means I have 7 metres spare so of course I'm going to use it for patch cables which means more connectors at far too much money each!

This isn't like HDMI cables where a £2.99 job will do as well as a £200 Monster cable, for this sort of thing there really is a difference and I take the attitude that if I'm doing the job then I should do it properly.

In fact, I'm not sure what I'm really ranting about so I'll get my coat!

Well it does seem like a fair old chunk of cash!

But as you negated your rant justification I have no other option but to call you a numpty.
