WordPress
Anyone had any experience with it?
I have dabbled in it with my professional blog but that's all. Does it take a significant amount of experience to use i.e. build a website with? Are web designers using WP nowadays to build sites for their clients? What I have at the moment (in my opinion) doesn't reflect the cost that has been spent :/ BB x |

/moves to correct forum
It doesn't take experience to build a blog it's very simple to setup. Some sites do use it for all their content

Yeah wasn't too sure where to put it lol!
Ok, so... if you were requiring a website built for your company, would you expect it to be built in WordPress? BB x |

I've almost reached the end of my dissertation now in which I have developed a CMS for my American Football team - I established wordpress to be the system of choice, so it gets my vote! (www.marksweb.co.uk/wordpress)
I also used it to fill the void my website created in the internets. www.marksweb.co.uk |

Looks good Joe
WP seems quite versatile, but I am not convinced it is the software that a cutting edge recruitment firm should be using (work). There is more functionality besides the CMS that can be available with other software. For what they have, I think they have been shafted! So much so, that I think they would be reluctant to spend more money on a new site :/ Would people agree that the addition of two new pages costing £3k is being 'shafted'? I think so, considering this is something you can add for free (albeit with a mthly hosting/maintenance support fee) with other software. BB x |

thats getting shafted in my book!
I'd say people often misunderstand the power of wordpress - I know I did for some time. A lot of websites are powered by wordpress - its all about the creativity and skills of the developer in creating a theme. With regards to functionality that comes from plugins, theres thousands of them, I recently wrote one! |
