Beware of the long telescopic lens of the law - m56
Word of warning to our Northern lot. The law is out in force on the m56. Seen them three times in two days. It's a bit odd as there is one chap above the carriageway in high-vis looking down a camera thing on a tripod. When you get closer it has one heck of a lens on the thing. It doesn't look like a type of mobile camera, more of a telescope

I think i've seen that! When I saw the lens I thought it was a 'proper' camera!
There have been quite a lot of under-cover cars on there as well, and today the usual marked car making everyone do 60 just because he was. Really annoys me. Theres enough idiots on motorways without them distracting people even more! |

I saw that today too, can't remember where we were, will have been either the M62 or M6. Assumed it was ANPR or something, although the Golf in front of me felt the need to stamp on the brakes.

haha, I was doing 80/90 past it, so hopefully I'll be alright... all else fails & something drops through the mat it'll be a case of "sorry sir, can't remember who was driving the car that day, any chance you've got a photo to remind us?"

Errr, no you won't play that game. You would need to look at pepipo (or however its spelt) forums. That's long been closed and IIRC you can be charged with a worse offence, failing to provide details or along those lines.
I've had a read around as I am more interested in what it was. I have found some mobile anpr setups that look like it (but not that much) and some cameras in similar setup. Really weird as it did have a proper lens on there. |

ah lame. I remember a few years ago when an old friend got done in his S3 @ 113 on the A500(!!!) and he looked at all options. He told me unless they could prove who was driving they couldn't actually charge anyone. Unless of course the car belonged to just one person.
