Default Dead Rising 2 Discussion

I found something quite coll so I thought I would start a discussion thread, I get the impression that this game is full of little Easter Eggs and hidden gems so better to keep them in one place.

Spoiler Alert! - Highlight below to read!

You'll find one of the first survivors outside the cinema on the Platinum Strip, if you enter the cinema on the back wall to the right there is a cinema poster, examine the poster and you'll get a combo card for a laser sword, effectively a light sabre, the component parts are a torch and gems so if you get an opertunity collect these on the way

End Spoiler Alert!

There are indeed a fair few easter eggs about
Having chatted about it with a few reviewers in the past couple of weeks, it's quite amazing what you can find!

One thing that isn't an easter egg but I'm sure will be ignored by many: do play Terror is Reality/the competitive multiplayer. It's really quite fun and much better than I thought it would be. Plus you can transfer the money you acquire from it to your single player game which is handy

I had so much fun last night.

Until I tried to attack zombies with......MILK!

Turns out they really don't like calcium

I'm really not enjoying this one as much as the first. The biggest improvement is the combo weapons which adds a new dimension, and the fact that they've got rid of the photography angle, but so many things are annoying me after just a couple of hours of play. I'm going to keep going as I'm sure levelling up will help but so far things that have just had me swearing at the screen are:

- The inability to judge when or where a random zombie might grab you. Most of the time you can avoid them by moving away at the last second or generally keeping your distance, or jumping, but sometimes they seem to be able to get you no matter what you do.

- Being grabbed as you land from a jump because you have to find your footing.

- Being grabbed when looking at your watch or checking the radio to change cases. I mean Jesus, there has to be some compromise here. I shouldn't have to find a safe spot to stand just so I can take three seconds to read the case and decide whether to take it.

- The combination of character slowness, vast distances to survivors, number of simultaneous cases and the horrible, horrible contrived gameplay method where one survivor won't go with you unless you find their partner... so you find them but they won't go with you either so you have to go back to the last one... who eventually follows you... and then they meet and take ages embracing so get attacked by zombies and I have to save them and OH FOR ****'S SAKE...

- ...they've defected because I hit them with a weapon rather than the twenty-eight zombies that were attacking them.

Will keep playing and hope it gets better.

Go into the map and press X, it'll bring up your messages and show you on the map where the case is, allowing you to set yourself a nice little route between survivors so you spend less time going backwards and forwards.

Thank goodness for that!

I've warmed to the game a little more since last night. I still think the zombie AI was superior in the first game though - they definitely seem more 'grabby' in this one.

Remember you can't (or probably can't) do all the cases in 1 sitting so just chillax!

You could in the first game (I did it last week) but I reckon you need to be level 50 and know the game inside out before attempting it, as you'll need precision timing in some places.

I did expect it to be like the first one in that respect, but to spring more than five cases on you while the timer for the first story case is going on is a bit much. By the time I'd got to the guys in the knife store after saving the people directly outside the safe room I didn't have enough time left to even complete 1-4 and had to restart. There must be a shortcut to unlock later on.

Edit: In a slight turnaround of fortune I've managed to rescue 11 people before case 2-1 has started! Mostly luck.
