Default Car radio rendered useless.

After the departure of Mr. Moyles from Radio 1, my morning drive feels a little empty. "Grimmys" show feels formatted, corporate and generic by comparison.
Granted in the overall scheme of things a radio show is small beans, but I'm still pretty disappointed that Moyles went as I always found him (them) entertaining.

I was never a Moyles fan, but I did listen to the last hour, and have to say it was considerably better than "Grimmys" first. Inexperience/growing pains, maybe, but that voice just grates on me.

I've now gone back to my usuals - BBC Local/Radio 2. I was somewhat surprised when I tuned in to Zoe Ball on Radio 2 this week only to hear my usual local radio presenter reading the news!

Never had you down as a Moyles fan APoL. I used to listen to him years ago but got a bit bored of it all. Radio5 is where the cool kids hang out

Been a Moyles fan since he started at R1 in '97 (I think).
For years now I've listened to him before switching over to R2 when his show finishes.
The last week of shows should've made all but the most closed minded people reconsider their opinion of him.

On the plus side I'm going to see him on tour in November.

I have been a Moyles fan on and off for years, been listening for over a year before it finished and it just isn't the same anymore, the new show bores me to tears, currently listening to Capital which isn't too bad, will have to try others if it doesn't work out!

I always felt that rather than trying to please everyone like most dj's do, Moyles seemed to be more comfortable making a show that both himself and the team thought was funny and of the listeners thought so too then all the better. What set his show apart as far as I'm concerned was what I call the Star Trek effect. With few exceptions, you could watch Trek episodes in any order even missing one or two out and you still "got it'. Its rare for a radio show to make a back reference whereas Moyles did it all the time and that makes me as a listener feel more connected to the show as opposed to the competition.
For this reason alone I think Nick Grimshaw has a tough task ahead of him. I can't say I think much of him as the constant name dropping concerning his showbiz chums is cringeworthy but given R1's blinkered take on their intended demographic you have to ask if not him then who else would be suitable? Fearne Cotton? Please no.

Well that and Nick Grimshaw is a horrendously boring ****.

It's pretty much turning into Radio OneDirection now.

Read an article the other day that contained an interesting comment, that while Moyles interviews/meets/talks about celebrities there's always an element of being starstruck in there. Grimmy seems to consider himself to be a celebrity.
