Default Teleport Problems

We've just bought the film "Break Up" on our teleport and upon loading it has green lines flickering across the screen. We checked out other channels on tv and everything else (widescreen and normal) is fine. We then tried one of those teleport replay things and when we selected a widescreen one it flickered green lines again.

When we rang them up they weren't at all helpful and said they'd refund our account and to call them if the problems continuous.

We've got a new tv.. picky is wondering whether it's something to do with the connectors (though he doesn't know for sure) as when we checked the TV upstairs (note this is an old skanky TV and not widescreen) it didn't have any green lines on it.

Any ideas people? Pickys just trying out a scart cable... *waits in anticipation*

Fankoo

*edit* D'oh... think this should have been in audio visual thread! My bad!

Can you guys try an RF cable?

Telewest info can be found here however you might like to read Kitten's definition of teleport which can be found here.

I've never heard of anything like that before that had anything to do with a TV. It sounds like a reception problem to me, but if you've tried the Teleport service on another TV then I'm not sure it can be (unless of course you rebooted the cable box or changed some settings in the process of doing that, which might have fixed the problem).

have restarted the box, as have they remotely. Seems very odd.we;ve decided to go upstairs and watch it - which is on a crt TV and has signal fed via rf. I'll have more of a play tomorrow and see if the rf to the LCD tv is a clear picture, then Ill know if its some connector problem.

Don't know anything about this teleport thing but does the signal downstairs pass through a video or anything on it's way from the box to the TV? Sounds like it could possibly be macrovision or something.

That's true, though for me macrovision just caused the picture brightness and contrast to go way down and I didn't get any other artefacts, so it didn't occur to me it could be that.

Yeah the symptoms don't sound quite right for macrovision but it could be something similar.
