Default Help me remember "my" music!

My new housemate has played a couple of tracks that have really rammed home how little of the music that really got me into music (im sure everyone went through a phase of tracks just hitting really big at a time when their musical interest was at a peak?)

For me I was emerging from being hugely into trance to being a "metalhead" or mosher or whatever. Mockery aside, I was (and still am) a huge fan of "Nu-Metal". Problem is, I cant remember what much of it was and I really long to hear that sound again.

To get people into the mood and to give some idea of the time period, I am referring to music that was out along the lines of:

Slipknot
Limp Bizkit
Linkin Park
Papa Roach
Il Nino
System of a Down
Korn

etc etc.

Just typing this thread has made me remember Crazy Town - Butterfly. I absolutely loved this track and listening to it now is bringing back all sorts of memories!

Anyone?

You nailed it in a sentence but I would say to include stuff a bit earlier, maybe going back to 98 or so

Many of those tracks you mentioned hit the spot - off to download them again now

Hadnt forgotten about Spineshank though. Incidentally, I left that album (and a stack of ~30 others from that era) at the top of a kids slide in a park one night after some fooling about... Gutting

I might be a bit early for you as my interest in music peaked when I was a uni from 95-98. Without going through my collection I could add Deftones and Coal Chamber to that list though.

I've actually been thinking of selling off all my old metal CDs lately. Since we moved into our current house they've all just sat there in storage case things taking up space. I'm just not sure if it's worth making room for them in the new house so they'll most likely either go into storage or go on eBay.

Deftones was exactly what I was thinking of when I said a little earlier In fact, Change (in the house of flies) was the first MP3 I ever downloaded I think. It was either that or Stellar by Incubus
