Not really a problem for me anymore considering someone got hold of the details at the end of March anyhow
CC is blocked now, sucks for others though.

Aye i'm currently contemplating if I should block my barclaycard.... infact I might just ask for a new card as they could have everything to make a transaction. What a pain in the butt

I'd go for a new card personally. That's what I'm going to do after I get refunded the money. It happened twice with mine in the space of 3 weeks :/

Having read that it appears that MaddoxX chappy is a bit of a cock but aside from that it is pretty shocking that Valve could be hacked like that. I'm curious as to whether debit cards are in much danger since that is what I used but then anyone using mine is likely to find themselves with negative money because thats what I'm on just now.

Well, if you don't mind paying £30-odd overlimit fees every day plus whatever they manage to get out from your bank, then sure, you're not at risk. Of course, there's a fair chance they'll not even bother, but rest assured, if you know your card has been compromised and don't tell the bank, it's more likely than not they'll say you've been negligent and demand you pay back every penny, followed swiftly by account closure.
In short, I'd get it cancelled. As for the cracker, well, I'm not even going to go there. Last edited by Mark; 18-04-2007 at 18:59. |
