Default Wii Died :(

It's been working fine since being chipped and Jodie has been playing Super Paper Mario for the last 3 days (first import game i've tried). Turned it on this morning and was greeted by a loud grinding noise. Popped the CD out and turned it off quickly and there were no scratches on the CD at all. It doesn't grind anymore but i can no longer read even the original games i have. Is it worth me removing the Wiikey then trying to send it back? I have the receipt still but guess they'd tell me to speak directly to Nintendo?

I'm pretty sure that you can get your VC games back. Think you might have to phone Nintendo tech support and they can link them to your new console for re-downloading.

Have you got a bank statement or anything like that detailing the transaction? That should do iirc.

Ah ok, should be fine to send back to Nintendo to replace though. From things I've read they've been very good at fast replacements.

Think they'll notice it's been cracked open though? The Wiikey has been removed already.

I'd give it a go.
