Your best free utilities:
I'm compiling a list of free utilities.
However, I'm only interested in those that you have actually used and can recommend. Post link and a brief description. here's a few that I use or have used: ******************* FileZilla : Fast and reliable FTP client and server with lots of useful features and an intuitive interface (free). Bandwidth Monitor : Enables you to keep a close eye on the amount of bandwidth accumulated over the current hour, day, week, month, or even year (lite version is free). TightVNC : Remote control software package derived from the popular VNC software. With TightVNC, you can see the desktop of a remote machine and control it with your local mouse and keyboard, just like you would do it sitting in the front of that computer (free). Mozzila FireFox : Award winning web browser (free) Mozilla Thunderbird : Feature rich email application. Customise, organise and secure your mail (free). Netscape : Fast, flexible and reliable browser (free) CCleaner : System optimization and privacy tool that removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. But the best part is that it's fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware! (free) AIDA32 : System Diagnosis and benchmarking application for ant Win32 platform (free) EVEREST Home Edition : System diagnostics, system information and benchmarking solution for home PC users, based on the award-winning EVEREST Technology. It offers the world's most accurate system information and diagnostics capabilities, including online features, memory benchmarks, hardware monitoring, and low-level hardware information (free) PC Wizard : Powerful utility designed for hardware detection, analysis and benchmark your system and its components (free) CPU-Z : Gathers basic information of some of the main devices of your system. Hand for quick identification of components. Fraps : Video Capture

SyncToy - Easy way to synchronise / Mirror folders between devices for backup purposes. Also RobocopyUI does similar, and better from a geeky perspective but isn't as user friendly.

For VNC on doze I either use UltraVNC as it has the best NT authentication options I've seen, or RealVNC, which has multi-monitor support.
I'll add UnxUtils to the list too. Pretty much dont function on Windows without them in PATH somewhere.

Agree with RealVNC, not used Ultra...
Does AVG count? have always found it to be a good Anti-virus program which has kept me protected.. Especially good when combined with Spybot S&D program to get rid of spyware... and... Adaware to deal with adware... Other than that then I tend to go with other 'free' software I find to do stuff, which Tyson can vouch for

The usual suspects of WinRAR, AdAware, SpyBot, AVG Antivirus, TweakXP, FRAPS, FireFox, and HiJackThis.
