Looking at a 37" flat telly.

Anyone know anything about this particular model? I'm looking to change my old 32" Tosh CRT telly and this one has come to my attention.

yep, installed one for my next door neighbour and my mate has the 42 version ( I have the 42px60 )

it's as good as they come, only downside is that it only has 2 scart sockets ( px60 had 3 )

other than that I can recommend it 100%

It doesn't depend on purchase price as much as you'd think, I generally rent and normally change the telly every year or so, but the last one has worked so well that I've had it for years.

I'll be looking to connect the following.

Sky+ (currently scart)
DVD player (currently s-video)
Xbox (currently scart)
Wii (currently using front panel composite)
Video (currently using scart but will switch to RF (would rather dump this but Mrs. Feek won't have it))

Spending money on anything less than 1366x768 (720p) is a bad investment. If you're moving to HD-TV you need to put the 360 into a high-def connector, it's the only one of your sources that actually produces a HD signal.

Cant justify the expense with the house though.

I quite agree, I have a amsung 788 panel and the picture is great.
Model is LE32N73BD, 2 HDMI inputs, 2 scart, card reader, USB port, free view etc, etc
Great LCD TV

I was looking at a 37" a few months back. I'm going to wait until the 1920x1080p prices drop. THe one I was looking at was the Phillips 37PF9731D but it's still about £1800

I was in comet a while back and all the pictures looked stunning BUT.. they do tend to demonstrate the TVs in HD so you don't get to see how they look on normal TV. On asking them, they refused.

In Tescos, they did the same. However, they accepted to show me normal TV but only for about 5 seconds. The reason for this is that they looked terrible outside of HD which is why they were so quick to revert back to HD, as all the TVs were switched.

You can get full 1080p sets for far less than £1800. Our 40" Sammy can be had for under £1k now.

1080p is arguably overkill for anything under 42" - certainly imo anyway, you just wont tell the difference from 720p. And it definitely isn't worth the price premium.
