What car?
I'm currently looking around Autotrader trying to get inspired for when I change my car. I've been semi sensible....well, if you can call lusting over a Megane 16v Sport sensible, and trying to figure out how much I'd get for a kidney so I can get an Asbo car (or Kazbo...geddit?!) (Focus ST)
BUT! I need reasons why I shouldn't be madly in love with a Volvo C70 2.4 T GT. They're so priiiddy! And before you cite 3 kids, I REFUSE to have a people carrier, REFUSE! With every atom of my being! It'll be a cold day in hell before I drive a mummys car! I want a fun car!

Sorry, I can't help you out much over there. If you were to move across the pond, I could be considerably better at giving options. LOL

I don't really know about budget yet which is why its all dreams :/
Very very very best case scenario, which is also very very very very unlikely, it'll be 10k tops. Mr Mortgage Man is considering how best to say 'in yer dreams luv' without being too rude about it I think. Realistically it'll be around 6k inc tradeing in my car I think.

6k - Lotus Elise?
Will do some searching later one for you. But, Volvo 850 T5 should be easily possible. Goes like a chuffing missile! Simon/~Flibster

I'd LOVE one, but I despite fighting my mumsy image I do realistically need to be able to, at the very least, showhorn the three kids in, with perhaps a lunchbox or two for good measure.
Is the 850 an estate? Thats almost as much of a dirty word as people carrier! *beetles off to look*
