Default 360 Media Streaming from NAS :D

I've had a Buffalo Linkstation kicking around for a while not being used which would be ideal to link up to the 360 meaning I can get rid of the final PC in the front room.

Now, the 360 isn't supposed to work with NAS, but I've found a proggy called Twonky that makes it all happen Had to flash the LS firmware and then install the twonky software onto it. It also works with other forms of NAS. I'm currently playing MP3's through it and will test out some video later on.

Just need to find a serial for it now as it expires in 30 days :/

Aye, twonky is ideal for embedded devices. Just a shame it cant convert video on the fly else I'd have looked at it myself - though to be fair, and embedded device wouldn't have much kick in it for video conversion.

TVersity is your best bet for Windows machines, that also supports video conversion, and will work with the PS3, Wii, PDA's, Showcenter - Supposedly anything. There are a couple of cludges for Linux (ushare for one), but tbh I'm waiting for the Linux port of TVersity before I look at that.

[edit]That article has been updated, seems ushare should work better straight out of the box now. Dont think it converts on the fly though.
