Naffed offness of the highest order
My car. I love my car, really really love it, it's almost unhealthy! But when I checked all the stuff after getting it home I noticed it didn't have the full service history I was told it had. For a 2 year old car, not good. The first question I wasked the salesman was 'does it have FSH?' 'yes' he says. Anyway, the big 24000 mile service is missing. Renault have been utterly ****E and we have been chasing and chasing and chasing this ever since, people not returning calls etc. But, all along we were assured it DID have fsh and the dealer just didn't stamp the book. We were eventually told it was done in Romford and Mike finally got hold of them today.
'yes, it was serviced at 13441 miles' Oh. So that was the first service, nothing since? 'no. No renault dealer has serviced it since' So. I'm left with a 2 year old hothatch without full service history for a Main Dealer FSH price. I told them at the weekend if this wasn't sorted by the weekend it'd be going back, the manager said 'yesyesyes but it'll all be sorted'. Mike rang him twice today to tell him the 'good news' and he twice hasn't returned the calls. So waht do you think of my chances of taking it back for a refund? If it hasnt got fsh I don't want it, it HAS to have it for resale, it's not negotiable. I know they'll offer a free service but it's going to show as being 6000 miles too late, and.....fussy cow that I am after handing over the best part of 12k I don't want a bodge job Am I being too fussy do you think? I HATE Renault, they've been crapper than crap.

Do you have it in writing that they said it has FSH? I'd give the CAB a call and see what they say, if it was advertised as having FSH but it hasn't then they can be done under the sale of goods act.

Can anyone confirm that the salesman said this? A verbal contract is just as binding - just more difficult to prove.

To be perfectly honest, I would be happy with them servicing it for free plus some cashback to make up for the deficit you would have selling it on without the FSH as advertised.
If it was a 5 year old car I would be more concerned but I wouldn't really be worried too much on a 2 year old car |

I am agreeing with the little piggymo person an all Just rinse the crap out of them for anything you can get even mentioning a tank of fuel wouldn't go a miss. From what i hear from friends Renault are complete Cack at after sales so if you can get anything at all you will be doing well. I am led to believe they just sell you a car & wave goodbye to you. The late service won't mean more than a smile when it comes to resale if you have maintained it well since YOU got it. The miles on that are minimal so don't worry |

It's the other way around for me. A 2 year old car is more likely to have manufacturer warranty on it than a 5 year old car and without a full service history the warranty could be void.

This is something i hadn't thought of & would be enough of a reason for me to back it unless they honoured the warranty in writing. Even that from Renault may not mean to much Tuff call. Given this i would do my best to back the motor on those grounds. |
