How blind are you?
So I went to the opticians yesterday for an eye test.
Very thorough lad who checked my vision, reckoned I had very healthy eyes and told me they were slightly worse than the prescription on my current specs (which are about 5.5 years old). So I checked out the numbers he was writing down and his expert evaluation was that my right eye was -4.25 and my left was -5.25. Is that bad? I mean, I know that I'm pretty much blind without my cybernetic implants connected (even need them to read a book and can't see what's on my PC screen(s) without them)... Anyhoo, how blind is everyone else? Can I be trumped because them figures look pretty high (or low)...

Christ, I thought I was bad.
-4.00 Right and -4.5 left. I can't read the big letter at the top of the chart at the opticians, you must struggle to see the chart Feek

All I see is a blur when I look at it uncorrected, but corrected I can read the bottom line. Which is how it should be

My eyes seem to have finally settled down with very little change in the last 3 or 4 years. I'm seriously considering laser treatment. Will probably cost a bob or two as I would imagine the cheapest treatment won't be suitable for astigmatism. Gonna book an appointment at Optical Express soonish to suss it out.

For some reason, the last couple of times my prescription has changed, it's changed for the better! |

I don't understand this, you have 20:20 vision without your glasses and can read the bottom line, but your eyes are -4.25 and -5.25 (ish)? How does that work?

The glasses just make life a bit easier on the muscles I'm just guessing and have no idea if that's even possible.

The problem with that approach is that the eyes get lazy - once you start wearing glasses you'll soon find you can't do without them at all. |
