I need a program which will............
search my HDs for photos, ideally flag up and maybe remove duplicates and then store them by date or something similar.
Anyone know of anything? I've just backed up all my old harddrives and they are in a proper mess, I probably have 5 copies of the same photos in different places and sorting them will take AGES! Thanks MB |

Try Picasa. It will scan your drives and list all your photos by date. I'm not sure it will delete the duplicates automatically but it might (never used it). It will certainly make it easier to flag up the duplicates and make it easier to delete them. It also says it's easy to move photos with it.

Don't know how well it works with duplicates, but googles picasa is a pleasure to use for archiving tagging quickly editing and sharing photos...

I used to have an app which would actually scan the contents of images and flag up those that it thought were similar. It did a damn good job but I can't remember what it's called - I'll have a look and see if I've still got it or can find it.
