TV displaying wrong colours via component
Right...just fired up my xbox via vga.. first annoying thing (with my new TV) was that when i opted for 1080p it didn't display owt
then the theme was green rather than the usual orange... and in COD 4 there was a lot of green again - like when i was gettin shot, it was green around the edges. Anyone got any ideas on how to rectify this one? |

A few people seem to be having various troubles with your set, I assume it's the technika one that you mentioned in the other thread?

Did you do what I did and plug the wrong cables in the wrong holes? I mixed up the green and red

most of the problems seem to be with various inputs/resolutions.

well being a bit newb to video connectivity trouble shooting i swapped the r and g cables and the display went grey so i guess they wont work in the wrong ports.

Sorry I got that mixed up.
I actually put the red audio socket into the video connection and the video into the audio in dunno if that will help

well thats a little odd... I realised that i had my component audio in the outputs not the inputs whilst hooking up my phono -> 3.5mm jack for tv via z-5500s
Now the component colour is fine Just contemplating trading in my xbox for a new model now so i can play via HDMI. What do people think to that? I'm not too sure of the cost involved but if the new ones have hdmi and are quieter/more reliable then I'd certainly be up for a trip to town after work one night this week |

Wouldn't bother TBH. Yes, HDMI will be a bit better but not worth the cost involved really. And the newer machines aren't that much, if at all, quieter. Some have even said they're louder. And as for reliability, it's still too early to say for sure.

I think the only thing which is quieter is the elite. Personally I'm just waiting for mine to RROD then I'll send it back, hopefully getting a HDMI one in exchange
