Today has been a good day for movies

We Own the Night is a classic cop story set around two brothers Mark Whalberg and Joaquin Phoenix one an up and coming New York Police Lieutenant and the other a drug taking night club manager with underworld associations, as the Russian Mafia scales up drug operations their paths cross and not on good terms.

I liked this film, its a no brainer but its well told and showcases both of the main actors well, there is enough character development mixed with action to keep the watcher engaged and although a little clichéd the ending is well done.

In some way I felt a little let down by the visuals which reminded me at times of a high budget TV movie but I'd highly recommend it.
