Default Canadian cousin in MSN virus on Mac shocker!

I have a cousin in the land of Canadia. Since ooh 5 weeks ago he's had a virus on MSN. His MSN will sign in and then a message window will pop up with a link to go to. I've never bothered with the link as it is pretty darned obvious the link is dodgy. Plus his account then signs him out.

Now I am fed up with my serene internet browsing being interrupted with this rubbish so I sent my cous a message on Facebook. He told me he is on a Mac laptop.

So seeing as I have 0% knowledge of Macs can any enlightened people suggest me some tips on how I can help cous Kyle rid himself of the shame of having a virus on a Mac.

I have replied to his message asking him what Mac OS he is using. When he tells me what OS he is using, whether OSX/Windows I shall let ye know.

+1. I like my women like my MSN clients. Pretty and customizable with cute little sounds that let me know when i've "signed on"

Ask him if it's possible that his MSN account is being used elsewhere. A colleague of mine was getting snotty emails from people telling her to stop sending those obviously dodgy links over MSN but she's a Mac user using Adium. It turned out that her account had been compromised.

I had that from somebody on my list. It was their account being hijacked I think so not a virus as such.

Yeah I think he "signed" into a site that would tell him who had blocked him on MSN if he put his MSN username and password in.

I told him to change it and so far, so good but I haven't been able to speak to him so I can't be 100% sure.
