Need a partition manager to replace partition magic
Mornin
right, got my new system setup and sorted last night but my partitions table is screwed cose i'm sure its not showing everything its meant to, and despite leaving vista's disk manager formatting my samsung tb disk last night it wasn't accessable this morning, still just showed as a 0bytes disk. Anyone know of any decent partition managers like Partition Magic? i tried to run that this morning but it don't work in vista |

Have you tried simple fdisk? Boot from a Win98 boot floppy and go from there, though not sure whether it will work on a disk that size or not.

I can't get fdisk to work with anything above about 20gb, which doesn't really help these days.

What about I create boot disks for partition magic and you do it from their dos gui interface? PM me your email address and I will get it sent over to you zipped up
I use that for all my installs even now, just so much easier |

If you dont wanna use gParted (probably not best in this case), grab one of the Bart PE CD's Windows live CD environment and usually have tones of extra stuff on there to use, really good

bootrec /fixmbr is worth a try if you've not already done so, or try some of the other options there.
