Would confirmation from me do instead Yep, those is them! The secret is to take them out whilst they still look underdone. Oh and don't pat them down. Leave them as balls on the baking tray.
Will put up the lemon cake recipe in a bit. It's out of Nigella - Domestic Goddess, if she has that one? Glad you liked 'em

Found the recipe online. Trés convenient!!
Nigella's Lemon-Syrup Loaf Cake Ingredients Cake: 125g unsalted butter 175g caster sugar 2 large eggs Zest of 1 lemon 175g self-raising flour pinch of salt 4 tablespoons milk Syrup: Juice of 1.5 lemons (about 4 tablespoons) 100g of icing sugar Method 1. Butter and line a 23 x 13 x 7 cm loaf tin and preheat the oven to 180 degrees or gas mark 4. 2. Cream together the butter and sugar until pale and fluffy 3. Add eggs and lemon zest and beat in well 4. Add the sieved flour and salt, folding in gently but thoroughly 5. Mix in the milk 6. Scrape into loaf tin and put cake in oven for 45 mins, or until golden and a cake tester comes out clean 7. While it's cooking, heat the sugar in the lemon juice over a gentle heat until it dissolves. 8. As soon as you take the cake out, puncture holes all over the top with a skewer and pour the syrup over to let it soak in. Make sure there are lots of holes in the top so it doesn't all go down the sides. 9. Wait until it's completely cold to take it out of the tin. 10. Devour
