Default Rock Band 2

So, after the huge success that was RB1, Harmonix decide to release a sequel, excellent It's only a few months since the first came out over here, but with the date for the second looking to be November, I can't wait to destroy yet another guitar game.

The songs look a lot harder, the graphics look better, and the songs are also looking a lot better. So anyone except me and Davey picking this up?

Nay, hard. But I find hard not too difficult whereas expert is impossible.

I will certainly be buying it at some point but i've got a dilemma. I've never owned a guitar hero esque game before so i completely lack any peripherals, I'm uninterested in the drums + microphone all i want is the guitar. With Rock band 2 and Guitar hero IV both being released relatively close to each other i need to decide which peripheral to get. I like the idea of the touch sensitive neck on the GH4 guitar, but i hear the RB2 one will be far better built. No matter which i opt for i'll be getting the 'solus' edition of the other so the songs and game play etc aren't really important, anyone got any thoughts?

You could grab a very cheap copy of GHIII with the wireless guitar and then buy Rock Band 2 solus

But, but, but! The GH4 guitar has a ipod-esque touchpad on the neck allowing for top class widdleeee-weeeeeeerrrr (that's my typing version of a guitar solo) epicness. It really does appeal but i heard the build quality for GH3 guitars was tosh and thus am worried about the build quality for its successor.

In an ideal world mate, i would have them. However i share my rather small flat with my girlfriend who is clearly wearing the trousers in this relationship and has forbade me having them due to the room they'll take up. A sad day indeed

Ah, fair enough. I've always found the jump to expert on most guitar games is quite steep, but RB seems pretty good. Most of the harder hard songs are harder than the easy ones on expert. I think if your final tier on hard, tier 4/5 on expert shouldn't really pose a problem.
