Paterson Joseph

If you were going to do the first black doctor then I think he would be amazingly good I loved bis portrayal of the Marquis in Neverwhere, he has a great voice and the bounce and slight madness that the doctor needs. I didn't know he had been linked but now he has I'm rooting for him to get it

Damn shame about Tennant thought I could have watched has as the Doctor for as long as TB and not got bored with his portrayal.

Seems to be a lot of chatter on the net about Russel Tovey too

Its interesting how often the tipped people have been associated with the programme before, both recent assistants had had smaller roles before and Tovey and Joseph have both been in episodes, weird :/

I can understand where David Tennant is coming from, and I think I'd agree with him. Best to get out whilst the going is still good. I would have thought there was only maybe one or two seasons potentially left with him in the role anyway, before it would be getting old.

I would love to see him in the role. Good actor, would bring something utterly different.

David Morrisey - 5-1
Would be okay, I guess, but I can't help but feel it would be more of the same-old same-old. I would like to see a Doctor who is markedly different. I know they retain the knowledge and some of the personality of their predecessors, but the changes haven't been completely earthshaking.

James Nesbitt - 6-1
No.. just no. Good actor but too well known, to big a face, and too much history in many other Dramas. Plus it would be hard not to think of the Yellow Pages adverts.

John Simm - 8-1
After he did the star turn as the Master? You've got to be joking. How would they present that? "I respected and admired him so much, I re-incarnated to be just like him!" Give us a break.
