My Vitara needs an MOT so I spent the day on it yesterday trying to give it the best chance poss
Before After Can you spot the difference Hopefully slipping it in some time tomorrow so Fingers crossed Also worth noting that I put the last MOT on it which means I've had it over a year. A years motoring for 80 quid |

Can't see the pics because I'm at work and have them turned off but I'll just add is that the Feekmobile is also in having it's ticket today.
Good luck to the both of us, eh?

God, I dread the annual MOT
I have an MPV which I tend not to use much, mostly for short journeys and for about seven or eight journeys a year of between 300 & 1,200 miles. Like you, I always make a point of washing my car, cleaning it out, topping up the washer bottles and checking all the light bulbs, etc. before taking it in for the MOT. For two years running, I failed on emissions; the first time I shelled out over £300 for a replacement sensor. The next time, I spoke to a guy at the test centre who told me to stick some Redex in the tank, fill up and go for an early morning 100 mile drive on a motorway before bringing it back - it passed. Chatting to him afterwards, he said that replacement sensors on some cars can cost over £1,000. Good luck with your Vitara

I'm like you Malc, the day before the MOT I give it a good clean, polish, vaccum, and do some pointless checks under the bonnet, such as tapping the air filter with my finger, checking the oil, and wiping some muck off the radiator cap. As though it makes any difference?!
You might be more mechanically minded than me though and may have done something that will *actually increase its chances of passing.

There's always the opposing opinion which suggests that ensuring your vehicle is absolutely covered in crap, tends to dissuade the tester from taking too much of an interest in the underneath of the car and its running gear
My car is coming up to its first MOT - hope there are no surprises!

I always give the car a bit of a spruce up before an MOT, do all the little checks etc etc.
They always bloody find something though. BTW, recognise a couple of the old SPS'ers in here! (Waves to Apol and Phykell) |
