My movie for tonight...
Grosse Pointe Blank.
What a film! First saw this film almost 10 years ago when I was at Uni. I love it!! Bought the VHS and long since upgraded to DVD. Almost perfect cast, absolutely perfect soundtrack, and it's funny as hell! Dan Aykroyd is a genius piece of casting in this film. He's just menacing enough to appear completely barking. Watch it. kinda hijacking, kinda not..
Dym, testpattern and myself have been having a fairly lazy Sunday, topped off with a trio of films. Two light relief, one slightly darker. First up came Galaxy Quest. Awesome, brain half-off, laugh out loud movie, taking shots at every major sci-fi TV series along the way (though naturally primarily piss taking Star Trek), everything seems to just work together perfectly. Alan Rickman is still my favourite though Secondly came Evolution. Kinda funny film, never really takes itself seriously, but with a reasonable turn from David Duchovny and Julianne Moore. To cap off the evening we ended up watching one of my favourites, as we discovered Testpattern was yet to have watched it, Batman Begins. Probably THE best Batman film there has ever been (according to testpattern, and ratified by me!) He was more than a little reluctant at first, in part due to George Clooney wrecking the role I suspect, but was soon converted
