Default Farewell my beloved...

My 360 has finally died

Here's the sequence of events:

Turn 360 on and send a few messages to friends.

Load up the Forza 2 demo.

Continue to load into game - black screen. 10 minutes passes...still black screen.

Reboot

Try demo again - this time it shows the loading screen, but with the chequer board effect.

I've phoned Costco up and they have said they'll refund it aslong as I go in with the card holder of the costco account (my mum's BF). So I'll have to wait until they get back off their hols and go next tuesday.

I'm tempted to either:

Get a PS3 as they seem more reliable.
Save the money.
Get a TV.
Wait for the elite to come out (although it still suffers from the same problems).

Have you tried any other games or demos to see if the problem is with the 360 or the demo?

Haven't tried other demos yet, but chequer boarding is surely over heating? It hasn't happened before with that demo - and I've played it a fair bit.

I'd certainly try some other games and demos before confirming it as dead, just incase the demo has somehow become corrupted.

The reason why the PS3's more reliable is because there's never enough games to play on it anyhow

Unlucky though

Hold fire on the PS3, at least for a couple of days. Looking at the newly announced SKU, it's looking like they're going to announce a rumble pad soon. May as well wait until it's out and get it day one, it's not like there's really any games to play in the mean time anyway

In other 'HA' news, the new US PS3 (80GB version) doesn't come with hardware emulation, just software like ours.

Daz I take it you use the MSN in your profile? Either you have me blocked or something has screwed up because I can't see you on

I may just keep the money to be honest with just finishing uni and what not (strapped for cash).
