New car!
I've just placed a deposit on my new car
It's a Ford Ka 1.3, S reg, 82k on the clock, full mot, electric windows, power steering, alloys, central locking, metallic paint and most excitingly for me air con http://www.pontardulaismotorcompany....8d7eae464063fb for a photo. Cost me £1995 and by some miracle they took my old car for £150. It was a bit of an impromptu purchase. For the last few weeks my clio's been making increasingly awful rattling noises, and since the week of the Cottage Meet has started leaking oil, not a huge amount initially but it's been getting worse. Took it to a garage today for a look at it and they said it was coming from the head gasket and basically although fine now, it could go any time. Combined with the fact I need a reliable car for my new job starting in 2 weeks (it involves 300 miles a week of driving), the MOT being due next week and the fact I really hated how stiff the steering was (Admittedly the least important issue), it made sense to start looking. And somehow, the first car I viewed and test drove was exactly what I wanted I pick it up Monday

Ty
I couldn't believe it when he said £150, I was discussing it with my Mum in the car and we decided £100 would be very nice and then as I was about to go in the office she said 'But £50 might do at a push' I realised after that maybe I should have tried haggling for more but ah well, I'm very happy with £150 considering the problems it has.

Nice car Jen, hope you have many happy journeys in it
Kitten said she had a ford Ka and she loved it. It was far nipper and handled much better than people though.

Cool I was impressed with the handling of it too, first time I'd driven one and certainly compared to the clio it was much smoother and felt more keen to accelerate.
I know Davey and Daz have said positive things about it. I also have the advantage of a family friend who's a mechanic for a Ford dealer and a neighbour who works for a Ford dealer in the bodyshop, got to be useful sometime

Nearly as vile as a corsa I saw that was entirely pink both inside and out
BTW anyone got a clue what colour my car is? I originally thought it looked purpley silver, my Dad and the salesman reckon grey, my Mum silver and the garage's boss reckoned blue (?!).

Congrats! Nice little purchase Surprised they still keep their value that much really!!!! I guess cars don't depreciate as much as they used to - though Ka's and other such cars are popular so probably hold onto their value more.
Enjoy it!
