Gave a statement and they've taken mum's car details down.

Just feel a bit meh about it all now really. We have a case number thing for insurance company so mum's going to deal with that in a bit.

OMG just seen this.

What a GIMP. A complete and utter backwards TAWT.

I so hope you find out who they are... I loathe people like that... they're the kind that make this world not so nice at times.

/me wants to kick them in the goolies / poke their eyeballs for lynnie

I really don't get it. I think I'm too nice sometimes - even if I did the slightest damage to any vehicle I would stop and give all my details - and once more be incredibly apologetic.

/me doesn't like bad people.

This type of thing does suck. I'm really not sure how people manage to drive away without feeling guilty.

Quite easily, by the sound of it
It seems that the idea of not having to pay an insurance excess next year and not getting a 'due care' conviction is more important than doing what's right.
Hopefully they'll get done for leaving the scene as well now.

That sucks Lynnie, hope they find them and it gets sorted satisfactorily.

Unless she comes forward, it is doubtful that anything will be done. My mum has gone through our insurance. We've lost our 2 years no claims (we'd of had 2 years in December) and had to pay £250. If they get them then they'll give us all that back but very doubtful!

Got to take the car into the Insurance garage on Tuesday, good thing is my mum paid for a curtesy car option so I get to pick that up when I drop the car off, at least thats something Its an utter pain in the arse to get to work without a car.

Is it not cheaper to get it fixed without claiming, taking into account the losing of the no-claims etc etc?

Very doubtful, we would save that much a month. If we got it fixed ourselves it would be a patch up job. I did a ickle dent on the bumper and that cost £275, so very doubtful to cost under that. Where the damage is they should replace the bumper and the panel (where the most damage is).

Did any of the neighbours witness it ? The more independant witnesses the better.

The car should be able to be traced on PNC, even with a part reg and it will without doubt have damage on it with traces of your car's paint where the damage is. It's a fair bet that traces of paint left will match yours and visa versa.

If you're still living where you were when I was there for the Liverpool meet, I recall there was a main road not far away. If thats the case and it headed that way then the car may have been captured on any CCTV that may be there and a full VRM might have been captured.

Such things are so selfish and I have to echo Desmo in that the guilt alone should make them stop and leave a contact number. It can be very distressing for some people.
