well i got the pdf off my g/f's dad who is MD @ goldtec so i don't think he'd publish any false details.

*edit*
just had a quick look over currys tvs and 5000:1 seems average tbh - few higher, one or two lower...

I'm not saying he is, I just didn't think the LCD's went that high that was all. Seems like a good deal to me, is that 1080p?

no, sorry, didn't mean to say you were - just wanted to clarify the source as its obviously not a currys style link and goldtec are hardly a well known high street brand! lol

that isn't a bad price then for a 1080p set.

Didn't realise they were 5000:1 Haven't looked at TVs for a while

Also found this which is a different brand but they use Samsung panels too which would please the brand conscious people

Samsung are quoting contrast ratios up to 25,000:1 on their newest range of TVs. 4,500:1 isn't a problem.

You have to watch some of the contrast figures. The way they measure them isn't always a true reflection of performance. It has something to do with taking a minimum and maximum and working out an average or something, can't quite remember.

It's a bit like when AMD started the XP1400+ when it was really only 1200MHz system.
