Ty That does seem like an interesting idea. Being comfortable enough on the other side of the camera for someone to take a good photo of me. I know how hard that is for people.

I'd love to learn how to fly, to face that fear. Expensive though?

Just have a trial lesson to get it done. They'll let you fly (for a bit).

The words to that song made me stop and think about photography a bit, and how much time I was spending hiding behind a camera lens rather than participating. I'm not all that much of a photographer really, but it was getting to a silly stage when I would never go out without mine.
These days I use a bit more judgement and only take my camera out for specific purposes, like going to the zoo or whatever.

That said, there is a huge difference between thee and me. My camera is purely for fun and I'm not an artist. My livelihood is not dependant on the photos I take

Seen them

How about a ride in a hot air balloon, that's something I've always wanted to do but never got round to - yet.
Or, go up in a glider - my Dad did it on his fiftieth and had the time of his life.

My camera has taken me to so many new places, its been great. But its my camera taking me there and I watch events through it. I've been to gigs, to events, to galleries, to Toronto to get photos. It drives me, gets me out the house. There are days when I accept the things I've lost along the way. That its just the price I pay to do what I do. There are days when I'm ok about giving everything up for art. But then theres days when I'm not. Its easy to hide in my work. Its quite funny though. My photography philosophy is to always get the shot. To go that bit further and get something no-one else will get. To continually push myself. I have a little mascot on my camera, Ichigo from Bleach. He's there to remind me that no matter what I can cut through it and get good photos. Always find that hard to apply to life though Anyway, far too emo there I will always have my camera with me to make me do things I wouldn't.

We can chat about this over chocolate, I have some ideas for you. For starters you could come and join the gym near my work and we could get fit together. I'm considering changing gyms to be closer to work rather than home and the Rad is doing some great offers atm. Depends on how often you're over this end though.

If you wanted to do something for charity - depends what kind of charity. I know the dog rescue people that I used to volunteer for were wanting someone to take photos of peoples dogs (and people with their dogs) and charging them around £5-10 each. Half to the photographer, half to the charity. You'd be amazed how many people were up for that. I could give you more details if you're interested
I can't afford the gym right now. I have a healthy cycling route that is doing things. But the dog rescue thing sounds lovely. I'd really like to help with that. I love dogs and I know how much a photo of a pet can mean to someone.

Hmmm it feels a bit... dunno... cheap? Cliched. I love photography, not so much the kit. I think if I got a tattoo it would have to be something meaningful. haha f/1 on the top of my arm.

I've got a few ideas, but I'd rather discuss them off forum because well I'm not sure you'd be comfortable with me airing some stuff.
Some stuff i will suggest - If you would like to learn to fly next time you are up if the weather is good i will see if dad will take us through to Carlisle where the plane is and get someone to take you up, if you're good you might even get a shot of the controls.
Getting a tattoo, don't do it unless you are sure its what you want.
Eating new things, you are doing so well, i was so proud of you trying new things while you stayed here. You need to keep it up. Plus improving your diet will help you lose weight.
As for gaining a little independence, we're going to Canada! It's going to rock so ****ing hard. We've talked about other ways of gaining a bit more other than holidays.
I'm behind you 100% and you know that i will be standing there poking you in the back, not letting you give up.

Rikki i was explaining the benefits of genital piercing on guys at the weekend, they don't seem convinced.
