Duplicate Music Files in iTunes
Right... iTunes has just imported my mass of mp3s and it looks like its imported a lot of files (all in current view) twice.
Is there an app that can scan my hdd for duplicates or anything similar? i don't want to have excess space taken up by the same stuff thats somehow been coppied. |

you'll need to remove the duplicates from the iTunes XML file otherwise they'll still show in your library

fantastic, thanks.
and to save starting another thread.... I'm currently trying to Drag and drop in or go File > add folder/file to library... but some things just wont add. and some folders will just add like 1 track from a whole album! wtf? |

I think that is something to do with the mp3s as iTunes doesn't like them. Have had it happen with me and the only thing I can do is to convert the files and import the converted ones.

yeah it offers to convert some, but not all.
i'll see what it adds then maybe re-encode the rest - sucks. |
