Spec me a Shuttle
Need to build a Shuttle type PC for works demos.
Requirements are: Powerful processor, definite dual core possible Quad core? 4GB RAM 80GB+ HDD SATA, fast as possible, 10000rpm? Graphics card not really important. Budget up to £1500 though obivously cheaper is better and would all need to come from one supplier. GO!! |

No one?
Looks like I'll have to get up to date on processors and chipsets |

I did have a look but got distracted by shiny things. :/
The question I guess is whether you want to do it now or are able to wait a little for Wolfdale-compatible shuttles (that's the new E8xxx series processors). |

What sort of wait would it be? I'll probably need to get the system up and running by mid-March.

Perhaps you won't have to wait at all. These models appear to be compatible with E8xxx series CPUs:
SG31G2、SG33G5、SG33G5 PRO、SG33G5M、SG33G5M DELUXE、SG33G6 DELUXE、SP35P2 PRO、SX38P2 PRO That's all bar one of the models OcUK sells, and I think all of those should meet your other requirements. I've not really researched shuttles in the past so not sure about other retailers of them. Last edited by Mark; 05-02-2008 at 14:16. |
