Unhappy "Unfortunately, you didn't save your quote..."

Annual premium: £2,144.10

There is a reason I didn't save my latest quote.

Was thinking about a house move, that's the quote for me car based on the assumption that the chance of the bus claiming he did in fact drive into me and is completely to blame is not likely to happen.

I paid about a third of that almost 4 years ago when I got my first car aged 22! And it wasn't that much smaller.

Stupidly high quotes are hardly uncommon. I had quotes ranging from £600 to about £4100 when I was getting quotes for my Golf R32.

It depends greatly on if you fit the profile of the sort of customer that a given insurer wants business from.

WTF? Surely you have protected your no claims bonus? Have a look around as that is just insane.

Didn't get the option.
Last year went to 3 years NCB with Tesco, got hit by bus and did a check and looks to be about £900. Tried a new address due to a potential move and that's what I got :-(

Damn stupid thing is Churchill would have protected it I think, but Tesco offered to beat their quote when I went to cancel so I just said fine and stuck with them, didn't think about it enough.

Dude try elephant.co.uk

I had to claim last year, my fault, came in at about £2k to repair the vehicle I hit and mine (it was a fender bender but I broke the boot on her car)

I put my Mum on the policy as a named driver, and even though I had a claim AND I'm 23 AND I'm a chap, it still came in cheaper than the premium I paid the year before.

Thanks, I had actually tried them recently after one of those comparison things and shows at £650 or so for my current address, at zero no claims.

Though I think I put in 1.5k as the repair, got my car back earlier and total cost was £824.50 so that could help. Will definitely remember them though, fingers crossed that it'll go down in after more months have passed today.
