He's English mate, missing penalties is in his blood!

Chelsea need more Ballacks, I think it's actually a physical impossibility for a German to miss a penalty kick.

How pathetic though mate not to be able to take a spot kick when his whole life is based around kicking a ball, Shoot him I say.

Erm, did you not see him slip over as he took the kick? Not his fault was it? He's Chelsea's best player and for a fan to be slagging him off after missing a penalty is disgusting as far as I'm concerned, especially given how much he puts into his performances every week.

And going by what you say then we may as well scrap penalties as all players should never miss.

It's a bit more than that though. I agree that Drogba is a total cock end, but I feel sorry for Terry. He kept you in the game.

Agree with you totally Davey. He slipped JSB unless you were watching a game to us You seem him slip as his leg goes out to kick the ball not his fault as it had been pelting it down most of the match.

Lots of people mess up their spot kicks, he shouldn't have taken it when he did, the last fella who had his saved should have been there first.

Had it not been for John Terry then it wouldn't have gone as far as penalties. I think he should be thanked rather than berated.

To say that you'd shoot him or kick the **** out of him just goes to show what's wrong with so many English football fans. It's no wonder they hate us going to away matches in Europe.

Watching it back again, to me he seems to get a fairly clean hit on the ball and slips marginally afterwards, rather than slipping beforehand and then slicing the ball...

It looks to me there that his left ankle starts to go almost right away. When your target area is as small as the one he was aiming at (just inside the post I'd imagine) even the slightest slip would be enough to put him off.

Either way though I don't think he should be berated for it. The world's greatest players have missed penalties worse than that (Roberto Baggio anyone? Has the ball even come down from his kick yet?), so it's harsh to have a go at someone with the bottle to step up to take one, especially after his goal line clearance got them as far as penalties.
