Default Bye Bye Swifty, Hello CTR

So, as some may know, i wanted a Teg, my insurance company didnt want to know... So i then wanted a FN2, but after many suggestions to try the EP3 and FN2 back to back, and with a splash of common sense I decided the Ep3 was the way to go...

So, after a lot of searching, well a week or so, i found this...

A 55 plate, Satin Silver Civic Type R, EP3... it came with the 18" OZ alloys, which im not overly struck on and im thinking of buying a set of original CTR alloys, but they arent too bad, imo.

I managed to get this for £9489 and considering included kit im very happy with it, it has a smart Pioneer Avic headunit, with Sat Nav, TV tuner, DVD, 6disc changer, iPod plug and Parrot BT, which all seems very nice. It has tinted rear windows, A/C and a nice Momo steering wheel, which lead me to believe it may be a 30th Anniversary edition, but, it isnt badged as such, so probably not.

The only downside to the car from my point of view is the mileage, which for its age (Jan06 registered) is high at 47400, but it comes backed with a full Honda main dealer service history and from the interior its clear the previous owner has really looked after it.

Sorry ive no better pictures, but unfortunately ive leant my portable sun unit out.

Great cars for a hoon in IMO. They are a hooning car that's the only way to describe them. I love the wheels though. I'm not a huge fan of the CTR as I felt a bit detached from the steering and what was going on with the chassis, which is very good incidently, but didn't feel as sharp as I'd hoped. Though that's easily improved with some ARBs and a good set of coilovers and a bit of a geo tweak.

They sound great and the engine's great fun to thrash the nuts off! Enjoy!

At the moment im not sure if thats going to be possible Mr Dym, im trying to get my local Honda dealer to give the car a good going over before i want to commit to a 512mile round trip... The last service was done 200miles ago, but thats 4months, its been sat in the showroom since then, and tbh, i dont fully trust the dealer i bought it from to do all the necessary check and changes.

I did try and catch you on MSN last night, Im currently looking into getting a flight down Friday and Train back over the weekend, which looks as though it will be cheaper as well, this thing really love to drink petrol.

I wouldn't have an issue with the mileage, it just means its been used as a rep car running up and down the motorway. Doing that will keep the engine tip-top. I've certainly noticed the difference in mine from changing from 10miles/week to 400+ /week.

I do agree with you on the alloys though, doesn't quite sit right. However post some proper pics up and I may change my mind.
