Force Font for Website
My mate wants me to knock up a fairly simple site for him which isn't a problem. What he does want though is a specific font to be used for the text.
Is this easy enough to do? The site will be html/CSS.

Very, very easy. Don't have an example to hand but it's about two minutes work.
Just remember to deal with the case where the prospective viewer doesn't have the font you require (i.e. list more than one font). |

Sorry, didn't really explain my first post very well. I'd say that the font isn't all that common. Can it be used from the webspace in any way?

If it's for a title or something, I try and just use an image, if it's for a main body of text, I dunno, i'd personally just stick with Verdana or something similar

CSS supports it, but because fonts are an operating system resource, the font file format is left to the browser. Expect each browser to have its own font implementation (or no support at all).
I really wouldn't recommend trying this. |

You can use what I use for the headers on http://www.thatsnotmyname.net...
It's called sIFR (http://www.mikeindustries.com/blog/sifr/) and replaces text with text... but renders the text using Flash so you can use custom fonts.

Cheers for that Blighter, I'll take a look.
I know this isn't preferable, but you know what it's like when you've got a mate who doesn't fully understand and it just sounds like you're being awkward. He's already had something started by hi bro-in-law who did the whole site in flash and I've told him that wasn't the best route and now I'm telling him he can't have the font he wants. I think I'll just start with using his font for the header info and menu images and use a nice plain font for the body text and see if he likes it.
