Default Special effects stunt cars

In celebration of the fact that I am now back in special effects blowing things up and generally being a nuisance for a living I thought we'd have a thread dedicated to all those sfx guys that made cars jump, skid, fly and crash when we were kids.

First up the king of them all, the Fall Guy. Nobody could fly a pickup truck like he could

You could even buy a model of his pickup truck to have a go yourself, in the living room over your dad's feet of course

Now, pity the fool that ever tried to take the wheel off BA Baracus... "Nobody drives my van, but me!"

The A Team is here and they're in your Lego box.

I couldn't find any pics but they used to make some cool stuff out of old junk and knacked old cars in barns with little more than the fairly extensive tool collection they always find. There was also a way cool jeep barrel roll in the opening credits, would love to find a picture of that!

And the Dukes of Hazzard. Ooooooooweeeee was Daisy cute

Always a good one on a Sunday afternoon with a few jumps, a chase and some good skidding.

I think some of that is from the film they made but meh, same car. What/who did I miss? bring on the pics!

Peter Kent:

Okay that's a short clip but it's an iconic jump on the bike

They visited my degree show years ago when I was demonstrating my jet scooter and left a business card to call them. Otherwise you just ring them up and see if they have any work on, basically it's freelance but if you're useful then there will always be work for you

From journo Chris on another forum:

Quote:
Oh Jonny, if we're talking stunts we're going to need the great arena stunt men, famed for flinging cars through buses while upside down and on fire....

...greats such as Brian Carson:

..Tommy Trubble..

..and of course, Spanky Spangler..

My work here is done!

Lucky you! Do you have an image of this Jet scooter? And speaking of degree shows, was your degree an Art degree? Sorry too many questions.

Yeah it works. It's a bit too scary though, I only rode it once and nearly got hurt. No brakes, no throttle control and you're carrying a bottle of propane. Not my best thought out project

Don't think you can call the general lee a stunt car. Think all they did was launch the current one, see how it landed, if it landed drivable they continued with it, if it landed wrecked, they cut the film just as it landed then swapped to a new one

Not complaining, cos it makes for some funny episodes 300 and some they went through apparently

p.s. Yes she was
