Well I guess being well spoken is ok, I just wish I had a bit more of an interesting voice. I do love the Geordie accent though. The problem with speaking "proper like" is that people instantly assume ponciness which isn't so fun.

You're voice isn't sheerly composed of your accent. Having a 'more interesting' voice could simply mean changing the way you speak, emphasis on different words. Also, learning to push your voice box down can dramatically change the way a person speaks - the adams apple actually moves indepedantly of the vocal chords although most people don't this - leaving it down when you speak gives a dark and sonorous tone to a person's voice.

Interesting... though I'll have to resist doing that at my office or people may start wondering why I'm reciting Shakespeare to myself!

exactly... 'Scottish' is a bit too wide ranging. Edinburgh/Glasgow/Wick/Inverness/Aberdeen all sound hugely different. I have pan loaf Scottish accent though I think in this area the acccent is much softer and less prounounced than other accents North/South of here.

I'm quite well spoken (I was born in Oxford don't you know) and I think its fun as it really gives people the wrong impression about me
