No the Scottish for flange is ****, clunge sounds suspiciously English to me.

I'd have to agree with this lady, I know of the term but can't profess to ever having used it or heard it used up here.

The reason I thought it might be Scottish is that it was muttered by Maggie, a woman of Scottish accent and it just fitted so well. I stand corrected. However, like JSB I shall endeavour to use the word in my daily speech.
