I'm only borrowing the Metro if I get in a desperate situation, not only is it a pain in the arse to drive I also have to walk half a mile up a steep hill to go and collect it and then walk back so its not ideal for little runs.

Oh I forgot to say to add to its style it has a massive roof rack

A 59BHP motor AND a massive roof rack??? That's luxury - my first car was a 40BHP Polo with a Tow-Bar!!

Just be sure you remember the brakes in that thing are likely to take a tad longer to stop you

hehe excellent!!!

mine was an '82 X-reg PoloC and was a hand me down from my mother via my elder brother who had managed to do the big end bearings in one time by driving it on a long motorway journey with the oil light blinking away - it then went on to my little brother who also learnt to drive in it before ending up being my dad's spare for little journeys and rainy days when he didn't want to get his classic aircooled veedub out

2 previous owners before we bought it at about 5 years old - then 5 drivers in our family (3 of which learnt to drive in it) over about 18 years of ownership
they definately don't make them like that anymore
oh and it was Alpine White which is quite fitting as it's most likely now a Fridge/Freezer in someones kitchen

edit: doh! this would probably have been better posted in the "First Car" thread
