Dead Man Walking

Starring
  • Susan Sarandon
  • Sean Penn
  • Robert Prosky
  • R. Lee Ermey
A man on death row for a murder and the nun who develops a relationship with him.

8/10 It's another good film, taut and great performances from all the actors. Susan Sarandon winning a deserved Oscar for her part, it isn't a cheery film and not one I'd be in a hurry to rewatch but definitely worth the two hours.

Essex boys.

Not watched it before as I'd heard it was about as true to life as Braveheart
Crepted up on me the other night whilst I was lazing in my trick new leather easy chair (with matching stool) So I only went & watched it
As a film it's not to bad I s'pose seeings it was free but as an account of an incident that actually happened it's complete garbage.
I've seen the new one as well with Carlton Palmer bigging himself up, All I can say is Nice earner for the Dude

The Thin Red Line

Starring
  • Jim Caveziel
  • Nick Nolte
  • John Cusack
  • Adrien Brody
WWII film about the conflict at Guadalcanal

6/10 It is a good film and I'm possibly being a bit harsh with the score but it just takes too sodding long and it appears at times like the director is a frustrated nature documentary maker rather than an entertainment filmmaker as such.

Clerks 2

A completely puerile film which had Mrs Dym giggling in disbelief and completely horrified at some of it while we watched it this morning.

I think it's an OK follow up to the classic of the first film but only works because of the films which came between it and the original (Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back).

It was a nice piece of closure for the series and managed to take what the first film had and present it in a story-based format.

As a film then I'd give it 6/10, as a tool to make Mrs Dym giggle then I'd give it 8/10

It's my second most watchable KS film, after Mallrats, but I find the first one a better film.

The Happening

Truly awful film. Trees have a virus, wind blows, virus gets released, people go mental, all of a sudden it stops. Not sure whats more wooden, Mark Whalbergs acting or the trees.

3/10 and I am being bloody generous at that

300

Watched in on Blu-Ray would give it a 6 or 7 out of ten. I dunno it was OK i suppose, just nothing really spectacular imo.

IIRC Essex boys isn't meant to be true to life. But isn't that red head out of e.r. in it and nekkid too??
