As far as I know its a alarm thing that sends out warning of war coming all shops had them because of a 3rd world war scare but it was left in the post office/shop that faysh's parents owned.

I still do this little run up my stairs if ive had to go to the loo in the night, just in case theres a monster following me.

Afraid not! It was the noise that scared me most Then I had to run really quickly back to bedroom and jump on my bed, had to jump because more steps on the ground meant more chance of the monster getting me

Just remembered another & it's all my nanny witches fault
She told me & my Sis that a woman she knew had been attacked by a Bat, The bat got stuck in her hair & all the smegma off the bat stopped the ladys hair growing for everer & everer
Freaked the bejesus out of me & I still can't stand bats flying about me head
