Can't be bothered with the queen myself, seems like a waste of money, but people say it all balances out, i don't know nor care enough. I find aristocracy and class and the whole royal way of things very annoying unfair and i don't see why i should like her or the family. My mum and aunt on the other hand love her and i went round the Royal yacht Britannia with them a few weeks ago, and it didn't change a thing i think about them That said i'm sure i would understand it a whole lot better if i was born into it

If princess Beatrice was a little (i think i'm being pretty fair on her here) nicer looking i'm sure she'd be worth a go to get in on the royal act though

Currently I agree with you.

However... Prince Charles is looking to be a proactive monarch who will break with tradition and actually voice his opinion (this hasn't been done since the 17th centuary)!

I have no interest in the royal family at the moment, but should its members become politically active (as in more than having tea and crumpets with the ineffective PM) then I will have more respect and interest

Closest I got to the royal family was when they came to give my Employers a Queen's Award about 15 years ago. Was in the local paper and everything.

I have a fair amount of time for Her Majesty. Yes, she has a reputation for being aloof and at times somewhat insensitive.

Charles I'm really not sure about - yes, he seems willing to speak his mind, but I also think he can be a blithering idiot and puts his nose into affairs where it doesn't belong.

your kids see the queen as a celebrity so want to see them as a kinda landmark.

I think I'm with you My Bro got to meet the Queen when she visited his work place (Royal Institute). Apparently Philip was really chatty to him about his work and seemed genuinely interested.

I'm really proud of my Brother and was glad his work was recognised and of interest

Though. I dared him to wear a cowboy hat when he met her and offered £100!! He said no (thank Lordy too as I don't have £100 )
