This Christmas...
Season’s Greetings One and All,
This year I have decided not to send you all a card wishing you festive tidings; the money I have saved on cards and postage has been donated to the Charity CRISIS. CRISIS opens centres from 23-30 December every year; their Christmas centres offer homeless and vulnerably-housed people companionship at a time of year which can be particularly lonely for those without a home or family. Donations pay for hot food, a warm environment, companionship and some much needed relief to those otherwise sleeping rough in the bitter cold. More information about CRISIS and the opportunity to donate further can be found here: http://www.crisis.org.uk/page.builder/support_us.html I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, Crimbo Love, James / Jingo

Good cause
Me and my Mum were considering volunteering for something similar this Christmas but unfortunately decided it'd be too difficult for us this year. But next year we may well do

I'd love to volunteer to help out over Christmas but I just can't be that selfless - it's an important family time for me I wouldnt miss for the world. I guess alot of similar attitudes to mine are what make the charities struggle somewhat over the festive perioid.
One day I hope to do it

What a lovely thing to do
In our local shopping centre we have a 'giving tree' which has tags on it detailing a child's age and sex. The idea is you take a tag, buy a pressy and then take it to the centre office where they will wrap it and pass it on for you - it goes to disadvantaged children. I thought it was a lovely idea and I'd really like to get something |

Work are doing something similar. Can't help out myself for various reasons so I'll put some money in the pot instead.

That's pretty much the situation for so many so I think ideas like this (it's been done many times before - I certainly can't take credit for the idea!) are a really fantastic way of giving your support

Why thank you.
And best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral, winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most joyous traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, but with respect for the religious persuasion of others who choose to practice their own religion as well as those who choose not to practice a religion at all; Additionally, a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated recognition of the generally accepted calendar year 2009, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions have helped make our society great, without regard to the race, creed, color, religious, or sexual preferences of the wishes. (Disclaimer: This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her/himself or others and no responsibility for any unintended emotional stress these greetings may bring to those not caught up in the holiday spirit.)
