vix's random pic thread!
Went for a wander today to test the new camera. I think I've rediscovered my love for photography. And I'm lucky to live in such a lovely town.
Sky is a bit blown here, i still have a lot to learn about this kind of thing! Wymondham Abbey: What it originally looked like, on a small scale model in the town: Macro shot: Zoom test: No Zoom: Full Zoom!

Some good pics there
My go at rescuing the sign pic a bit. Its really hard to rescue over exposed stuff easier to under expose and then play Do you use the digital zoom as well for the gravestone zoom experiment? If you did then I'd avoid it in the future it doesn't actually zoom it just increases the size of a section of the picture on the sensor, in essence it reduces the resolution, better to max optical zoom and then crop using a post processing package, it will give you more flexibility MB |

Good efforts there, I will have a play later. I blew out the sky on one of my favourite shots too but it might be more difficult to play with as it has trees in it.
Nope, that's just the normal zoom! I did have digital Zoom on the S70 but I never used it as it was horrible quality. As you say, it's better to crop later, which is what I used to do. I think that's good quality for that kind of zoom though.
