I'm not sure but often (always?) with brilliant films they actually involve you on an emotional level and that is somewhat more taxing than most average films will ever achieve.

Yeah I think that's the case. Moot brilliant films you need to concentrate on. Average action films is just mindless fun. Making them easy to re-watch.

I'm gonna watch number 2 of my 250 tomorrow

Thing is, I've watched a load of them I think already this year, but they're not "the next on the list" so they haven't counted for me lol.

OK, I've just got back into this after an unexpected break. I'm only up to 5 now but I will try and recover. Slumdog is done, I enjoyed it.

Finally watched The Godfather Part II for the first time, very good film much like the first, I probably preferred it slightly, but again, as with the first, both overrated in my opinion, something like Once Upon a Time in America is a better film IMO.
