Allotment chat/pics/progress
Today was Day 1 of my Lotty
The weather has broke & the ground is perfect for a spot of digging so today I lined my boot with plastic, Chucked my boots & fork in the back & loaded myself & a flask in the car & went off up my allotment First thing to do is dig over my beds marking them out as i go & removing all the big stones. Took around 2 hours to get this far just using my fork, The beds are around 5ft wide & the width of my plot. You can see some of the rocks I found, I'm using them as markers at the mo. If there's some interest I will keep this thread updated & eventually post my produce |

Plan is to dig some well rotted horse manure in, There is a local source of some that is so old it doesn't even smell, poifect.
Me early tattys will go in first follwed by some onions, Greens wise it'll be cabbages & sprouts & maybe some runner & broad beans as well, No garlic though I Hate the stuff. I will have a small herb patch though for my mint for my tattys. Other than that I don't really know & am doing some reading & asking about on the plot. |

Bury your mint in a pot or it'll take over.
(That's my only gardening tip)

That's a pretty decent size plot you got there. I'm impressed. The soil looks like it'll benefit from that manure, looks really full of sand and clay.
